On Wednesday, the Director of Border and Boundaries Ambassador Ximena Fuentes Torrijo participated in the International Law Colloquium: “The Law of International Watercourses” organized by the Federal University of Mina Gerais in Brazil (UFMG).
Along with Ms. Fuentes, the Secretary Patrick Luna from the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, professor Maurizi Arcari from the University of Milan, and professors Lucas Lima and Aziz Tuffi Saliba from UFMG also made presentations at the meeting.
Her involvement in this meeting took place in the context of an invitation extended to Ambassador Fuentes to participate in the Winter Course at the International Law Center of CEDIN-Brazil. There the Director was asked to deliver four sessions, as well as a lecture on the Case “Conflict on the Status and Use of the Waters of the Silala River (Chile v. Bolivia)”, in her capacity as Agent for the case before the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
