DIFROL officials participated in the Workshop on "Mountain Risks: Snow Avalanches"
The workshop organized by the National Service for Prevention and Response to Disasters (SENAPRED), in conjunction with the Mountain School of the Chilean Army, provided basic tools related to the risks of accidents in Mountains, especially avalanches, and taught them the basic tools used in rescues. Likewise, this workshop was the beginning of the working group formed made up of institutions such as the National Geology and Mining Service (SERNAGEOMIN), the General Directorate of Water (DGA), the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF) and the National Directorate of Borders and Limits of the State (DIFROL), which are related to activities and studies mainly along the Andes Mountains.
The day focused on a series of presentations referring mainly to the evident need for the services that carry out work in these areas to have the appropriate equipment, as well as knowledge about the dangers and safeguards they must face in risk situations. In the same way, a practical exercise was carried out in the field using equipment such as shovels, a victim detector transmitter and an avalanche probe.
