XXVIII Agua Negra Integration Committee
The XXVIII Agua Negra Integration Committee took place in San Juan, Argentina, on 14 and 15 April 2025, which was co-chaired by the Director of Limits and Borders of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Santiago VillaIba, the Director of Borders of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Pedro Pablo Silva Sánchez.
The opening of the meeting was attended by the Governor of the Province of San Juan, Dr. Marcelo Orrego; the Vice Governor of San Juan, Dr. Fabián Martin; the Minister of Government of San Juan, Dr. Laura Palma; the Secretary of Institutional Relations of San Juan, Dra. Claudia Sarmiento; the Intendant of San Juan, Dr. Susana Laciar; the Consul of Argentina in Valparaiso, Minister Plenipotentiary Sebastián Molteni; and the Minister Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Border Commission of the Head of Cabinet of Ministers, Dr. Reina Sotillo. On the Chilean side, the Ambassador of Chile in Argentina, Ambassador José Antonio Viera Gallo; and the Regional Governor of Coquimbo, Cristóbal Juliá de la Vega, participated in the opening ceremony.
The authorities participating in this instance highlighted the exponential increase in the flow of tourism and the need to transform this reality into concrete milestones, having the Andes Mountains as the backbone of integration and cooperation, also highlighting the scope of this Committee as a space with a vocation for transformation.
