XVI Meeting of the Border and Integration Committee Chile - Bolivia
On November 21 and 22, 2024, the XVI Meeting of the Bolivia-Chile Border and Integration Committee was held in the city of La Paz, chaired by the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Integration of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Huáscar Ajata Guerrero and the National Director of State Borders and Boundaries of Chile, Carlos Dettleff Beros.
At the opening ceremony, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Elmer Catarina Mamani, warmly welcomed both delegations and the Director General of Integration and Borders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia, Delia Pinto Melgarejo and the National Director of State Borders and Boundaries of Chile, Carlos Dettleff Beros, took the floor. All participants agreed on the relevance of this sixteenth meeting of the Committee, highlighting the commitments reached in this bilateral dialogue mechanism, as a way for the safe and sustainable development of the border communities of both countries and the improvement of the quality of life of its members.
During the meeting, a fruitful dialogue took place and commitments were reached on integrated controls, phytosanitary, gender, health, and tourism matters, among others.
