On Friday, December 1, the National Director of State Borders and Boundaries, Madam Ambassador Ximena Fuentes held a protocol meeting with the Board of the Association of Career Diplomats (ADICA) presided by its Chairperson, First Secretary Ms. Marta Bonet. In this particular instance, Ambassador Fuentes expressed the interest DIFROL had in incorporating Foreign Service officers to its tasks, highlighting the institutional commitment that Second Secretary Mr. Luis Martínez had shown while being Chief of Cabinet of this National Department during 2016 and part of 2017. For this reason, the current Chief of Cabinet is also part of the Foreign Service active staff and two new diplomats are expected to arrive during 2018.

This meeting helped identify common points on which DIFROL and the Foreign Service can work together, for a better performance in complying with the objectives of the Chilean foreign policy regarding neighborly relations.
