First Meeting of the Chile-Bolivia Binational Table on Transboundary Water Resources

On December 17th and 18th, 2024, the first meeting of the Chile-Bolivia Binational Table on Transboundary Water Resources was held. Led by Director of Borders Pedro Pablo Silva Sánchez (Chile) and the Director General of International Transboundary Limits and Waters Marissa Castro Magnani (Bolivia), the meeting focused on creating a roadmap for managing surface transboundary water resources.

XVI Reunión del Comité de Frontera e Integración Chile - Bolivia

Chile and Peru held the Second Extraordinary Meeting of the Permanent Joint Boundary Commission

At the DIFROL offices in Santiago, on November 18, the Second Extraordinary Meeting of the Permanent Mixed Chilean - Peruvian Boundary Commission was held, reflecting the excellent relationship and collaboration between both countries with a view to the work scheduled for next year.

Officials Mrs. Carmen Gloria García and Mrs. Marta Mateluna of the DIFROL, together with the Representative of Carabineros in DIFROL, Colonel Rodrigo Castro, went on October 29, 2024, to the "Eduardo Becerra Bascuñán School", located in the Achupalla sector, Putaendo Commune, to make a deliver of school supplies for students and teachers of said school.

Mid-Term Meeting Chile-Perú 2024

In Arica, on August 20, 2024, in compliance with Article 8 of the Regulations of the Chile-Peru Border Integration and Development Committee (CIDF), the delegations of both countries met, chaired by the Director of Borders, Mr. Pedro Pablo Silva Sánchez, and by Minister Raúl Hidalgo Gallegos, Director of Border Development and Integration of the General Directorate of the Americas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru.

What is DIFROL?

The National Department of State Borders and Boundaries (DIFROL, by its Spanish acronym) is an advisory agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, whose main mission is to preserve and strengthen the territorial integrity of the country, providing professional and technical advice, in the legal field and in the relating to earth sciences, to the Supreme Government in matters of borders and limits.
